Safeguarding is more than responding to concerns; it is about building a culture of awareness, accountability, and care across our entire community. SAMCA promotes safe practice by setting clear standards of behaviour, providing ongoing education, and ensuring accessible reporting mechanisms for anyone who feels unsafe or witnesses misconduct.

What Safeguarding Means
Safeguarding involves protecting people from:
Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
Neglect or unsafe practices
Bullying or harassment
Exploitation or discrimination
Any behaviour that compromises wellbeing or dignity
Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
Anyone can report a concern: participants, staff, volunteers, parents, or third parties.
Every report is taken seriously and treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.
You can report a concern in two main ways:
